Citrine

The citrine crystal boasts beautiful golden hues, they can range in colour from light yellow to bright orange. It is believed that the name was derived from the French word “citron”, meaning lemon.

This crystal has been used ornamentally for thousands of years. In the Hellenistic Age between 300 and 150 B.C, it was used as a decorative gem. In more recent times, the gem was popular during the Art Deco era between the World Wars. During this era, the crystal was incorporated into elaborate jewellery pieces which were worn by actresses and those who could afford the treasurable stone. This tradition has continued as currently, citrine is very commonly used in jewellery.

This Missoma citrine November birthstone necklace is the perfect everyday piece. The crystal is framed by the sun which is a beautiful ode to its origins.

The semi-precious gemstone is known to be a stone of abundance and prosperity. It is well known to help heal the spiritual self as its properties are powerful cleansers.
